VoLo Foundation sponsors Citizens’ Climate Lobby at COP27

By Carlos Roa

VoLo Foundation is sponsoring Citizens’ Climate Lobby to spread their message at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference or COP27, which takes place November 6-18 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby began their activities at the event with the People’s Pavilion, a virtual meeting held on Saturday the 5th, aimed at including those who were unable to travel to the African country for the occasion.

This meeting opened with a video message from Thais Lopez Vogel, co-founder and trustee of VoLo Foundation.  Thais invited people to listen to CCL’s message because “They are creating the political will for a livable world”.

She also stressed that “Engaging people in the conversation about climate action is key to success.”

The People’s Pavilion facilitates access to curated events across selected thematic areas in and around COP27, providing a platform to amplify frontline voices facing barriers to joining the intergovernmental negotiations, expanding civic space by bridging the conversation with all the involved groups.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby and VoLo Foundation believe the means to achieve this is through Action for Climate Empowerment or ACE, a term adopted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 1992.

ACE focuses on six priority areas: education, training, public awareness, public participation, public access to information and international cooperation on climate issues.
