Giulianna Di Lauro is the Institute Market Transformation’s (IMT) Associate Director of Community Engagement. In her role, she serves as a primary representative to community organizations and city staff ensuring that inclusive community engagement solutions are centered on equity and accessibility. Giulianna’s background is in policy research, campaigns, and managing nonprofit programs.Alex Dews serves as IMT’s Managing Director of Programs, overseeing all programmatic efforts encompassing policy, business engagement, strategy, and analysis. He leads the execution of IMT’s organizational strategy and charts the programmatic pathway for achieving widespread adoption of building regulations at the city, state, and federal levels. Additionally, Alex focuses on creating new utility regulatory models that prioritize investments in people, ultimately enhancing the health and well-being of citizens. Moreover, he actively engages with real estate and other business operations, embodying IMT’s equity and environmental commitments.Alex and Guilianna identify roadblocks that hinder low carbon policy from becoming law and highlight how traditional policymaking often fails to account for the needs of communities.
