Vista Award

The VISTA Award is VoLo’s latest recognition, specific for students who display exemplary leadership, along with Vision, Innovation, Sustainability, Technology, and Action in climate solutions.

VoLo will gather proposals from students at the graduate level who are enrolled full-time with a US-based University or College. The finalist student individuals or teams will be invited by VoLo to present their ideas at our 2024 Climate Correction™ conference in Orlando, Florida.

VoLo’s Founders will determine the project that best drives positive change in FLORIDA climate solutions.

The winning project will receive a one-time grant from VoLo Foundation, paid to the affiliated university: US$10,000 if submitted individually, and US$25,000 if submitted by teams of 2 people or more. We encourage students from all disciplines to apply. We look forward to hearing your ideas!

Requirements

Applicants to the VoLo VISTA Award Program must complete an application and meet the following requirements.

  1. Applicants must be graduate students enrolled at a US-based University or College. No student may apply for the award during his/her final year of study unless current team members will be able to continue the project’s work at the institution for the remainder of the 2023-2024 academic year.
  2. The project must address a climate solution applicable to the state of Florida.
  3. The project must address carbon mitigation efforts within a timeframe that corresponds to the level of urgency inherent with the climate crisis. Proposals should present a framework that is results-oriented, provides for robust metrics and demonstrates analytical rigor. Projects must also identify inputs, outputs and outcomes, and succinctly discuss the project’s expected impact. VoLo Foundation has a strong preference for projects that address decarbonization.
  4. Completed applications must be received by October 31, 2023.

VISTA Award winner is expected to provide the following deliverables:

  1. Final reporting. This should include the project premise as originally submitted to VoLo Foundation, as well as progress made after receiving funds. Please include any significant milestones as well as any quantifiable impacts (experienced or expected).  The report should be in the format of a high-quality scientific research paper approved by the faculty supervisor.  Reporting is due one calendar year after the award grant is issued.
